“Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.”

Starting a business is not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about the everyday activities of a 13-year-old girl. Building a business is a lot of work, but it’s also such a beautiful thing to do. This little dream of mine began on a hot summer day when my cousins and I were bored. None of us had any ideas so I said, “Go put on some pretty dresses and I’ll grab a camera!” This was something new that we had never tried before. We spent a lot of time throughout my years at home doing fun photoshoots outside in the fields and under the trees (even a few in the pool). This fun activity soon became a fundraiser for my Belize mission trip. I never knew what this little dream would become, mainly because owning a photography business was not what I had imagined for my life growing up. The pictures we took that day were not the best (see below) but they were the beginning. At the time, I didn’t know that. All I knew was that I was having fun with my cousins. However, those pictures were the beginning of a business that would bring me so much joy. Not only because of the photography aspect, but because of the people that I would meet because of it! This little business has brought so many incredible people into my life. I have experienced so much because of this little dream, and I’m so grateful for it. I’ve received encouragement and criticism, and all of it has made me the person and photographer I am today.

As I entered high school and college, I soon realized that maybe THIS was my dream. Maybe I was made for THIS purpose – to love on people and show them their worth. That is the perk of this business that I love the most – loving on people and showing them just how beautiful they are.

So, now, thank you. Thank you for supporting my business, my little dream that became reality. Whether it’s scheduling a session or reading my blog, your support means so much to me. Thank you for helping me to achieve what seemed impossible to that 13-year-old girl on a hot summer day.

If you’re a business owner or hoping to be one someday, I encourage you to keep working hard. It’s not always going to be easy and it’s definitely going to be a lot of work, but I believe in you.

Perhaps this is the purpose for which you have been created. Esther 4:14
