When Amanda asked me to be her wedding photographer, I was overjoyed! Amanda and I went to the same private school for several years a loooonnggg time ago, and I have kept up with her on social media. When I photographed her sister’s proposal, I got to see her for the first time in person with Cody. Even in that short 45 minutes, I saw how much joy Amanda and Cody brought to one another. Before I knew it, I was seeing proposal pictures from Amanda on social media! I was secretly dreaming I would get to photograph them at some point, and my dreams came true when I got her message!

We met in December for their engagement session at the Carillon and it was 29 degrees outside – yes, you read that correctly, 29 degrees! After freezing in the cold at sunrise for an hour, I got in the car and my heart was overflowing with joy and excitement. Partially because I knew that their May 2017 wedding wouldn’t be nearly as cold. But mainly because we clicked immediately. I knew that we were a match made in heaven! They were naturals in front of the camera and they were excited about the photography aspect of their special day! What more could I ask for?!

Cody and Amanda’s day was flawless from beginning to end. Speaking of the end, those toasts tore me up! I had to remind myself that I was working and couldn’t cry because I would miss something! Cody and Amanda are perfect together and they obviously impact those around them so deeply!
