A Mountaintop Wintergreen Resort Wedding | Matt and Krista | Virginia Wedding Photographer

It’s been just under a week since Matt and Krista’s wedding day, and I’m still dreaming about their mountaintop ceremony and reception! When I first started chatting with Krista about their wedding she described some of the details of the day, but no words could have prepared me for how magical it would be in real life! After weeks of over 90 degree temperatures and lots of humidity, Matt and Krista’s day was a sunny 70 degree day. It was PERFECT! When I arrived at the house where Krista and Matt were getting ready, I was immediately blown away by the spectacular views. This was just the beginning. There was so much joyful anticipation that filled the room where the girls were getting ready! It was the most fun afternoon getting ready to say “I do”!

Matt and Krista decided to do a first look at the overlook on the porch behind the house. It was so intimate. Matt and Krista had been waiting for this exact moment for years, and it was finally happening. Their joy was indescribable.

One of my favorite parts of Matt and Krista’s day happened after their ceremony. All of their guests had moved on to cocktail hour and it was just them, the wedding party, and their families. They took a few minutes after portraits to pop a bottle of champagne and celebrate their marriage. They cheered and shared a few moments together before heading to the reception.

Their reception overlooked mountains on the terrace at Wintergreen. Tables filled the space with bistro lights hanging across the top. The night was full of dancing and chatting by the fire pits, and ended with sparklers.

Matt and Krista, your day was absolutely beautiful! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Barker! The best is yet to come!
